Retraction and Correction Policy
The Journal of Intelligent Engineering and Informatics (JIEI) is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. Corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions will be issued when necessary.
Corrections
A correction may be issued when an article contains errors that do not invalidate the main findings, such as:
- Author affiliation errors.
- Minor data reporting errors.
- Figure or table labelling errors.
- Typographical errors affecting interpretation.
- Missing acknowledgements or funding details.
Retractions
An article may be retracted if:
- The findings are unreliable.
- Data are fabricated or falsified.
- Plagiarism is confirmed.
- The article was published elsewhere.
- Ethical approval was falsely claimed.
- Peer review was manipulated.
- Serious errors invalidate the conclusions.
- Authors fail to provide clarification for major concerns.
Expression of Concern
The JIEI may publish an expression of concern if serious doubts arise about a published article but the investigation is still ongoing.
Retraction Notice
A retraction notice will clearly identify the article, explain the reason for retraction, and remain linked to the original article. The original article may remain available with a clear retraction watermark to preserve the scholarly record.
Author-Initiated Corrections
Authors should immediately inform the editorial office if they discover significant errors in their published article.
