Instructions for Authors

The Journal of Intelligent Engineering and Informatics (JIEI) welcomes original research articles, review papers, technical notes, short communications, industrial case studies, and survey articles that advance engineering science and informatics. The journal publishes manuscripts that demonstrate scientific novelty, practical significance, methodological rigor, and technological innovation. Below is a comprehensive Instructions for Authors for the JIEI. The important points to remember before submission of manuscripts: 

1.      The authors are asked to submit the source file (Microsoft word (.doc, .docx) or, Latex (.zip files).

2.      Author details should be included in the manuscript (Such as Name, Affiliation and Corresponding Author Email address).

3.      Plagiarism acceptance level of less than 15% and single source should be less than 4% will be considered for the review process.

4.      High similarity manuscripts will be returned without review.

5.      All submitted articles are subjected to a double-blind review process.

6.      All manuscripts must be written in academic and professional English.

7.      Once the paper is accepted for publication, send the copyright form along with the final paper in the Journal template.

8.      If author face difficulties to submit in the submission portal, send prepared manuscript to editor@journaliei.org

9.      Manuscript Submission to First Decision: 1-2 weeks

10.   Manuscript Submission to Acceptance: 6-8 weeks

11.   Manuscript Acceptance to Publication: 2 weeks

Authors must submit submissions using through the corresponding author's official institutional email address. Submissions that do not meet these conditions will not be considered for peer review.

 Original research articles may normally include:

  3. Corresponding author details
  4. Abstract
  5. Keywords
  6. Introduction
  7. Related work or literature review
  8. Materials and methods / Methodology
  9. Results
  10. Discussion
  11. Conclusion

Title

The title should be concise, specific, and technically accurate. Avoid exaggerated terms such as "novel," "perfect," "revolutionary," or "best" unless clearly justified.

Abstract

The abstract should be between 100 and 200 words and should include:

  • Problem statement
  • Methodology
  • Dataset or experimental setup
  • Main results
  • Key conclusion

Avoid citations in the abstract unless necessary.

Keywords

Provide 4 to 6 keywords.

Example:

Artificial Intelligence; Deep Learning; Smart Grid; Cybersecurity; Image Processing; IoT; Signal Processing.

Formatting

  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Font size: 12 pt
  • Line spacing:  1.5
  • Page size: A4
  • Margins: 1 inch
  • Figures and tables must be numbered sequentially.

Figures and Tables

Figures must be clear, high-resolution, and readable. Authors should ensure:

  • Figure captions are descriptive.
  • Tables are editable, not screenshots.
  • All figures and tables are cited in the text.
  • Axes, legends, units, and labels are readable.
  • Permission is obtained for reused material.

Equations

Equations should be editable and numbered sequentially if referenced in the text.

References

The JIEI follows an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) like numeric citation style. In-text citations should appear as:

[1], [2], [3]–[5]

References should be listed in the order cited in the manuscript.
